Hornady - One Shot Lube - seeking info

I just recently purchased a can of Hornady's One Shot Case Lube which was recommended by a dealer. I have never used it before. Is there anyone out there that has used this type before? How is the best way to apply this lube? Do I need to spray some directly into the necks of the cases before resizing? Do I need to spray the insides of my dies before resizing as it says? Will this lube gum up the dies? Will I need to clean the dies more often?
 
I've used it a lot. Great stuff IMO.

If you're loading straight walled pistol cases just lay them flat on a piece of poly and give them a spray. It doesn't take a whole lot.

If you're loading shouldered rifle cases spray the piss out of them and get some spray inside the case neck. I have had more than my share of stuck case issues with .223 brass but have it figured out now. I stand cases up in one of those aluminum bread loaf baking tins, place the tin at a .45 degree angle and spray. That will get some inside the necks. Usually I will get the first 2 cases really wet and put them up in the press to get things going. If it takes me a long time to load or if I break for lunch or something I'll respray the cases to make sure they are wet before I start back up.

I have never had a problem with gummed up dies with One Shot.
 
It works good. Better than the old stuff we used to use
x2 with the shoudlers cases - i find get them wet then wait 60 sec.

I just tried some Hornady Unique case lube - it is very good as well - not sticky, wipes off easy. I like it too
 
I bought a plastic container with lid, throw about 25-30 cases in, spray them good, snap the lid shut and roll it around, let dry and your good to go, keeps the atomized mist down as well.
 
Inside of dies

Do you know if the inside of the dies should be sprayed with lube or just leave the dies dry? Is there enough lube on the cases to just start resizing without lubing the dies?

I like the smell of One Shot.........

I spray about 500 cases of 9mm at a time. Shake them around, spray again and then into the casefeeder.
 
Nope carbide. I still lube. Hell I don't even need the sizing die and decapper anymore as I run all pre-processed 9mm brass, but I still lube as the final die, the Lee factory die, works better with lined cases.
 
I had a can of it and had to pull a lot of casings out of my dies. From now on I use unique or dillon lube on the pad. I sprayed the crap out of my cases and tried a few different procedures of using the spray and it sucked for me. It came with my lock & Load kit, maybe I got a bad batch.

It doens't work so well with .223. Works good with larger cases. I'm not a fan of wiping off all the cases after sizing though. Hornady recommends wiping them off, and if you don't, you get a bit of a gummy feel to them.

Since ost of my 223 loading is done via progressive press, I just use a lube die, and avoid the Hornady one shot.:)
 
Probably worth mentioning that I retumble my .223 brass after resizing and trimming to get any case lube off before loading. On my loading tool head the first station is a decapping die to act as a poker to get any media out of the primer pocket - which is pretty much every case.
 
i just stand the cases up in two rows on an old .45 acp pistol box insert (plastic kind) and spray down both sides at about a .45 angle making sure to get into the neck with the spray. let stand for a minute or two and size. works great for me, I also tumble after sizing to clean the cases.
 
My procedure for using any spray case lube is as follows. Place brass in a clean large plastic peanut butter jar. Spray case lube into said jar and quickly screw on the lid. Shake/ rotate jar for 30 seconds or so. Remove cases from jar and size. Toss sized cases into tumbler to remove lubricant. By the way, Lyman makes a tool that is handy for removing media from primer pockets.
