hi guys i heard that Hornady projectiles like example - interlock BTSP and the SST should work on the same powder charges and for the same poi with the same weight projectiles?

how true is this likely to be?

Sounds like BS, but I'd like to hear differently.

This is wishful thinking. Same charge weight will work probably, but won't be optimal. I'd still start a little lower and work up even if everything else is the same. POI will almost certainly move. I'd just treat it as a new load when changing something as significant as a projectile

I've used the same powder charges, but different POI and accuracy were the result. - dan

Sounds like a "it might work" situation, not a "it will work" situation.

They are going to have different BCs, so at minimum your drop at range will be different, even if the windage is bang on.

Nice, I’ve had similar poi happen with 174gr fmj and 180gr sp in a .303 Brit before.

What distance was that shot at? Would be interesting to see if it holds up at different ranges.

It's just at about 90meters for this test.
Was too muddy to go out into the field with the Hilux so 90 it was.

So for this gun an what It does, Stalking gun, it's typically 1 inch at 100m regardless.of with 130 or 150 woodleigh , or more lately the BTSP 180 GR, point and shoot .


I just couldn't wait until I ran out of Interlocks so had to Load a few to test.

The rifle wears a 2-7x33 old school Loopy, so there won't be any dialling or testing past 250-300 is typically a backline hold if needed
