Hey guys,
have a quick question about these bullets.

I just loaded up a new load, and found that they are a bit sticky in the new G19 i bought. I did a chamber check, and it sticks in the BBL, when turned upside down.

I tried it in the 92fs and it falls out, no problem.

would the fact that it is a new gun be a factor, as to why it sticks?
 
ok found the hornady manual, and it lists OAL at 1.060 for the 124 XTP. I was using what i had in my loading book that was closest. With an OAL at 1.075 for a 125 grain.

I will reduce the OAL of these and see what happens.
 
Every gun manufacturer does this a little bit differently when it comes to chamber and throating. Hence you will notice a difference in barrels from different manufacturers. When reloading with a new bullet you need to remove your barrel and chamber check a dummy load to see if it will chamber and then fall out when inverted. If it does not fall out or easily rotate your OAL is too long as it is touching the rifling. Reduce the OAL and try again.. until you can easily rotate the dummy round in the chamber... You should do this every time you reload a different bullet as the bullet shape will not the same.. different ogive etc...

Probably the difference between your G19 and your Beretta is that the G19 has polygonal rifling and the other has standard rifling..

it does not have poly rifling, as it has a new aftermarket lone wolf BBL.
You are right though, it was the OAL. I shortened it to the 1.060, and it falls out when it is inverted now. :D

Hollow points tend to require slightly deeper seating than ball due to the shape. Ball curves in progressively where as HP's stay straight until the TC begins. Had a similar issue with my Ruger P345 first time I loaded XTP's for it.
