Many manufacturers these days are using tough jackets of a variety of materials. It's worth checking out the manufacturers advice before loading the premiums.
For a beginner, yes, any large rifle primer will do for starters. However, they do make a difference, and it should be noted that they can make a significant pressure difference.
If you end up with a load that is near maximum, switching primers could take you over the top.
