Hornadys first Rifle

You would have thought that with such a beautiful chunk of wood, they could have put decent lines into it.

While I love the heavy figure in that wood, I loathe the design.

Regards, Dave.

Same here, the cheek piece especially and as FreedomIsn't Free stated, "It doesn't look $31,100.oo nice", and I agree.

Have to agree.

I guess I am a traditionalist when it comes to the shape of the wood furniture, prefer the normal "gentle curves" to the "harsh angles" I see there

Looks like the stock's been roughed out and then polished. Hit those edges with a block sander and finish the job for cripes sake. Nice chunk of lumber tho. I can't get past all the over the top scroll work to say much about the metal. Yeah don't think I'll be bidding either. lol. Real nice finishing though.

I think the reasoning behind the very different stock design is to ensure a unique rifle. If Hornady went with a traditional stock, I think a lot of folks would be saying "Why would I pay so much for a rifle that looks like a Remchester...." Just my 2 cents.
