Hornadys first Rifle

Lol, caption under one of the pictures states..."Oops! someone mounted the scope incorrectly!..."

You can clearly see from the magnification ring it is rotated the wrong way. Smooth move.

Lol. Seen many rifles blow that out of the water in design, and in price. Glad they are sticking to making ammunition. I know that the the price is for a one-off....but come on.

I like and use a number of Leupold scopes, but a Leupold, on a rifle of that level of value??

 I must be missing something.

Beautiful wood and workmanship.... but the stock style is to angular and sharp for me and I don't like overly ornate engraving and inlay either. I'm sure it's a wonderful piece, but it's way to overdone for my tastes. It's not elegant and it's not graceful. That of course is my opinion and you are welcome to yours. It would be a boring world if we all liked the same flavour ice cream.

A perfect case of brand name mark up...

This is not a case of brand name mark-up... it is also not a case of collector bidding (weird birds that they are), this is a case of wealthy people wanting something unique, so they can say they are the only one who has it... if a noted manufacturer makes only one legitimate item of almost anything, it is sure to sell for far more than it is worth...

For that kind of money, one could buy a brand new fully loaded Road Glide Ultra. Almost. If you have to ask what my point is here.....

Before bidding is done on the 23rd, you could buy the Ultra Glide for weekends and a Heritage Classic for running around town...

Apperantly a lot of thought went into the stock, it's too angular for me.

From Gunbrokers description:

Lucid Solutions assembled a seasoned, five-person team for the project. Their job was to design a functional walnut wooden stock that would frame the beauty of the Wiseman barreled-action. Several weeks of design went into a Solidworks 3-D cad model before the group made any CNC machine cuts. The stock was produced from a ### walnut blank grown in the Great American Heartland and selected for the vertical-line color pattern. The stock shape incorporates the natural hex design of the receiver. Linear lines from the Monte Carlo cheek-piece to the stock tip flow uniformly and thru the curvature of the free floated barrel.

The Lucent team continued use of the hexagon stock shape to elevate hand control for off- hand shooting and added a wide forearm floor to aid in bench rest practice. They also increased the girth, rails and grip of the stock to correctly size with the metal works and offer a masculine appeal. The wide-open side panels place emphasis on wood grain while a unique 13.5- degree linear checker design was engraved to increase grip at recoil and help prevent muzzle climb. A custom aluminum-bedding block saddled permanently to the wood houses the barreled action group to ensure accuracy. Recoil is absorbed thru a non-vented, 1" black recoil pad. Three swivel studs were placed to allow for carry and tripod use.

If it is bought for that price now, just imagine what what the asking price may be in the future.
Its price is as ridiculous as some of the listings in the EE..

I love fine firearms, however no thank-you on this one..............with that price I could almost purchase a new Tacoma.
