hornets

I had a Sako Model 78 in 22 Hornet, then had it reamed to a k-hornet It would shoot 3/4" all day long any day.Still kicking myself for selling it.

I have a BRNO Fox double set trigger doesnt look pretty but boy does it shoot!! I use 35 gr Vmax with IMR 4227. Great groundhog rifle.

They come in many guns...... Ruger #1, #3`s, 77`s. Brno`s, Savages, Winchesters, Win Cooeys, and many others, too many to mention.

I have had them in probably every one made thru the years :) I love them :) The K Hornet is a good one as well.

I have a BRNO ZKW 465 that has been modified to the K-Hornet configuration. It will shoot Factory fodder into less than MOA, and reloading just improves it. It was given to me by a dear friend, and will be with me as long as I can shoot, what a sweet rifle!! Regards, Eagleye.

22 Hornets - owned...

I've owned 2 Hornets - and sold them...

My first centerfire rifle was a Savage 219B in 22 Hornet. Reloaded for it - enjoyed it - had a horrible trigger - moved on....

Then came a Savage 340. Super accurate. Developed a 'fart' load for quiet rabbit hunting on a friends soft-fruit farm in Niagara. 50gr Winch PSP over
3.5gr Unique - produced dime sized groups at 50yds - benched - AWESOME. Great bunny getter with little damage to meat & pelts.

Had lots of fun with Hornets !!! Would consider again but for now, no regrets.

Cheap to reload - 46gr HP bullets worked the best for me.

I have a Ruger M77 Varmint in 22 Hornet. This is the stainless 24" heavy barrel with laminate stock..here are a couple 100 meter groups out of it with the 40gr VMax and 12.5grs of LilGun powder and a 6-24 Elite 4000 scope. Velocity is about 2950. It has been my favorite gopher getter.
Who says Hornets aren't accurate?...

This is the project I finished last week.

Savage 340B with B-Square scope mount and a Weaver K4. The stock is in oil.
Went yesterday to our range. Tried her at 50m. 11,3 gr H110 behind 45gr Hornady SP bullet. Boring accurate!:)
The beauty of the rather expensive B-Square mount is the fact that you can still use the sights. Add a Williams peep sight next week.

One of the best rifles I ever owned! Very compact, handy, robust and well made.

Cheers

Martin
