Got to get out on sunday, I figured that it might be to warm for the coyotes to be moving so I thought I would go for a walk and make a couple calls anyways.

Went to a farm that I havent seen any action yet this year, until today...

Used a bale to setup on and played female long howls and some female barks. Pulled this guy in around the 6 minute mark. He came from around the trees above my caller.

I actually flipped a coin that morning on which rifle I was gonna take with me. The 243 won, but now I wish the 223 would of won instead. He came in and sat on his rump around 100yds. Made a easy chest shot and must of hit every god damn rib bone he had. heh What a mess.

This was my only shot for the day, had a good long walk after this though.

Thanks guys

Yeah I just rested my rifle on top of it as I stood behind it. The only problem with that is if something comes from behind you, in this case I think something might of been behind me because there were two or three magpies making a pile of noise behind me. I wouldnt of been able to shoot that direction because there was a bunch of cows behind me, that and a farm yard. :)

That was very thoughtful of that Coyote to leave a trail even a blind man could follow.
I wonder what the .223 would have done too, especially if it where the same bullet as the .243 but in.223 of course.
Hope that last line made sense titch.
Once again Thanks for sharing your success story.

fratri: Theres alittle less of him now. He left abunch of chunks and fur where I hit em. Never seen anything like it before in my 3 years of coyote hunting. I think he was running dead.

snoopy: dont think theres much untainted meat left. :p

FLHTCUI: I think at closer ranges it would work better because the velocity wouldnt been as high. I did just order a new barrel for my 223 and will be trying out the Sierra 65gr GK's in this summer. Im hoping that those rounds work out good for me.

Longbranch: Just the awesomeness of a blackberry :p

NVShooter: Just threw on some camo, dont know if it helps or not, but at 4 bucks a roll for some horse leg wrap. Why not. :)

Silverfox: Its been really nice here the last two weeks. Pretty much all plus weather. Cant complain.

cheers guys

thx man

I hoping they work out. Im sure they will be alittle better for the 300yd range. Have to wait for next year for that though.
