Based on advice from this site I have been cruising ebay for a holster for a CZ SP-01.

Lots of holsters for their other models, but none for the SP (too new I guess).

Anyone know if another model holster for CZ will work with this gun?

Or, know where I can get a good IPSC holster for it?

Thanks.

I am not sure but I think CR-Speed may have a holster that will fit the SP-01.

Following taken from my link above. Thanks again Mass.

I recommend a Blade-Tech Dropped Offset Holster (DOH) for IPSC:

And their belt holster for IDPA:

The belt holster can be used for both IPSC and IDPA.

If you're in Calgary, go to 911 Supply at 4327A Manhattan Rd SE. They're the Blade-Tech distributers for Canada

holster for SP01

I have been using the Limcat holster...besides being what I believe to be the best holster out there my SP01, CZ Tactical Sport and STI/SV Open and Standard handguns all fit it with no adjustments whatsoever......I believe it to be even better than a CR Speed (although I'm not so sure if there's a Cdn distributor or if you have to order thru the company Limcat in the US)

I've been using a speedsec for my SP01, which I liked because it was like my limcat. This winter I picked up the Bladetech DOH for the SP01 and will be using it for a few matches. I think I may be more aggressive on the draw with the bladetech, but I need to test that more. The DOH for the SP01 also works great with my long dustcover Edge as well.

I would not use the Limcat holster. From what I have observed, dropped guns, there are better alternatives out their.

My experience with Limcat, Speedsec and Jr Micro holsters (got 'em all) is that they must be set up just right on the person - gun leaning back, not touching the body, etc. Actually, I don't recommend them for starting shooters - it's too easy for them to get set up wrong.

The major advantage they offer is that once the gun is drawn, the holster is out of the way for movement - this is great if you shoot Open and carry the gun at your appendix. This is kind of irrlevant if you are shooting standard or production as your holster isn't in the way anyway.

I would take Sean's advice. I have a speedsec, and have dropped my pistol a few times. Never happened with my Bladetech belt holster. If I could reverse time, I would get the DOH Bladetech. The Speedsec is purely competition, and has to be checked all the time to make sure it is locked. If you miss your grip on the draw, you may see you pistola on the ground (and you would be finished early-DQ-if you are loaded on the firing line). You may shave a 10th or 20th off your draw with the SPeedsec, ...maybe.(!)
If I ever get Dq'd for missing the grip and god forbid drop a loaded pistol,...off to the exchange forum it goes, and in its place will go a DOH Bladetech.

Limcats can be fussy, I actually bought mine cheap after the original owner got DQ'd for the third match in a row for having his gun fall out of his limcat. There are issues with some of these minimalist holsters and odd start positions, but as long as you can swipe the lock of on your draw then training and awareness will alleviate the issues.
