Hot Bluing.

I just spent a relative fortune on a blued mag extension for my 870P from Remington, and I am a little disappointed in its finish. It's blued but I can't see how it would match any of the finishes on any shotgun I've ever seen available. It's taken 5 months to get this part and now it doesn't match.

I'm looking for a competent smith who does a hot blue. This 870P has a deeper, shinier blue than most wingmasters, it's proving to be a real chore to find an extension to match.

ellwood epps, they do hot blueing, but it is a "royal black" that they do, a deep rich black (can almost fall into it when its comes out perfect), problem is with blueing batches, each one comes out a little different. a lot of varriables when doing blueing that can change the outcome.

That actually describes my 870P quite well beleive it or not.
