Hot Lips...totally useless?

My buddy just bought a few hot lips mags and hasn't tried them out yet. Conventional wisdom says the steel lips are much better and that he should return them--anyone had any success with the hot lips?

I use both with NO problems , although the steel lips feed a little more reliably.

I have a crap load of both and they both work fine. I think the hot lips will show wear and tear faster. They both break the same if dropped to many times..

Hot lips will fail sooner. Steel lips or nothing for this guy. If you shoot a lot you can destroy a hot lips mag in one season(for gophers that is )

I figure if the factory mag uses steel lips then why downgrade to plastic?

Where are you guys picking up your steel's from? All I ever run into in the shops is the plastic ones... just curious

Wholesale(I know, they're not fun to deal with) carries steel's. $39 each. You can order them from rimfire sports in the US as well.

I've had 4 hotlips mags since 1998. Holy crap! It's been that long?

They're still running strong.

I never had any problems with the hot lips. I got some feeding issues with the steel lips though

Picked up 2 more steel lips a week or so back and tried em on saturday. I now have 4 in total and they all work fine.
