I was on the Butler creek website - it looks like the steel lips 10/22 magazines only come with 10 round capacity. Does anyone know of any other high capacity steel lipped magazines? If I want 10 round magazines I figure it is better to use the Ruger factory magazines.

Also, are the hot lips magazines any good?

You can get steel lips in 25 round. I have one. From what I've heard, hot lips are pretty good, but steel lips are better and last longer.

I've had noting but bad luck with anything but the steel lips mags. I've still got 4 new ones waiting on the R22, but as soon as I find a decent source for more, I'll be buying.

There is a huge pent up demand in the US, so they will be or are being produced. Brownell's told me to expect the 25 round steel lips mag in the catalog for this summer, but it hasn't happened.

Jamlines are plentiful again.

I've never used a hotlips but have 2 steelips . Never a problem . Yes you can get them in 25rd capacity .

They fly off the shelf at my local store , so you need to keep your eyes open for them .

Maybe I got lucky, but i have several(~10 of each) both hot and steel lips. They get alot of use and abuse from myself, and my cousins. This is winter, and summer shooting, and lots of it. Can't say I'd hope for much better. All I can reccomend is to buy one, try it in your gun for 1000 rounds, then buy more if you are satisfied. And yes, they both come in 25rnd varieties.

+1 Steel lips are the stuff. Lots of 25rd available, in fact, I've never seen a 10rd one, people would just use the stock ruger mag.

was up at le baron in markham a couple of days ago (picked up a 10/22 stainless with plastic stock) and picked up one "clear" steel lips, none in smoke available. dave there said they're expecting a big butler creek shipment in anyday.

I was there Saturday and they were sold out. But I'll check back later this week, thanks for the heads up.

Any ideas on cleaning and maintenance with the h/l plastic mags? I have a hot lip that doesn't feed well if filled to 25. A few less, and it works fine.

Hi

I got my Steel lips mags from wholesale sports. They were not listed in their catalog at the time. I called and asked if they had any and the girl said "We have lots, they don't move fast." Well if they are not listed in the catalog.....

More like JAMLINE. Don't waste your hard earned buck on that peice of crap. The only way to get that thing to feed properly is to smack it after each shot. Mine ended up on the wrong end of my 10/22. Go for the B.C. steel lips. Get two and clip them together and you have a way better system.
