What they really need is an "assault" rifle that fires a little dude that runs up and smacks these morons upside the head. Now that would be an assault rifle.

We should care because they are our brothers to the South.

That, and if further restrictions are placed on them our own government will surely use it as an example.
If I was a betting man I would expect our new Liberal majority will likely beat them to it.

There are semi auto rifles and there are machine guns, and no american citizen can buy a brand spanking newly made machine gun.

Yup and given it's America, if it were to pass, they'll crank out a gazillion before the deadline, enough to last the next 50 years. Machine gun manufacture for civilians has been banned since 1988, but they're still building on "receivers" registered before that date.
