Household firearm inspection ?

This is for new applicants and I dont see anything about what your talking about.

This is for renewals. Didnt see anything here either.

I remember, when submitting my restricted license papers, to having to tick off the notorious box "will consent to firearm inspection". I am wondering has anyone had the "honour" of entertaining one of these visits ? Do they actually happen ? Are they randomly timely so they show up at your door at god knows what hour ? What type of inspection is involved ?

I guess my biggest question is, is there any truth to these inspections, and if so, what is the best way to prepare for one of these ? I fear that they will show up when I am working and demand to see the firearms. My thoughts turn immediately to the U.K. man and his wife who was forced to find the keys to the safe only to watch his husband, and his firearms, taken away later in a police car when he returned from work.

It was on a separate form relating to restricted firearms collection classification and it won't be on the non-restricted/restricted application or re-newel forms.

I was incorrect about what i remembered as i was filling out both the non-restricted/restricted application as well as the classification form at the same time when i submitted them.

Sure do, and I know enough that a phone will not allow police in my home... .

So they get a warrant... and you have been an a**hole to them the whole time before they have even inspected your storage situation....

Yup... they are going to go really easy on you now...

You need to learn the facts for obtaining a warrant and home inspections in general. You sound like another coward of intimidation. Maybe I should just roll over and let them walk right in my home, cause If I don't they might go get a warrant..........NOT a chance. As I'm fully aware of my rights :D

No need to get hostile, remember we are all on the same side ;).

I think the moral of this thread is keep your firearms and ammo safe and secure and you will be just fine with those inspections.

I certainly know more about them and how they work so thank you everyone for helping to clear this up.

I got a call from York Regional Police when I first got my restricted; the officer made an appointment with me, came by at the appointed time, asked me to show him the gun storage/safe; he didn't ask to look inside just looked at the safe said it was good (whatever that means) thanked me for my time and left. Invasive, perhaps, but quick and painless. I've moved twice since and no one called or came by.

We are under Nazi control . the two times they searched my house with and with out warrents sucked. trust me, when you tell them ,they should go home, and polish there jackboots . they do get pissed. you will be more pissed ,when you find out, that your court date is posponed another six months.
