How about a Benelli M3?

Still touring the world of possible tactical shotguns, I've been looking around to see if the Benelli M3, which is used by some tactical professionals in Canada, is available on the civilian market here. It seems to be so scarce that I'm not even sure if it's considered legal, although it would be hard to see why not, but anyway I have to like the idea of a semi auto with a pump action backup option. Otherwise, Benelli M4s are fairly obtainable, if not exactly cheap.

But back to the M3, what's the deal with them here?

Prohibited. Former Prohibited Weapons Order #11 "7 The firearms of the designs commonly known as the Benelli M1 Super 90 shotgun and the Benelli M3 Super 90 shotgun, and any variants or modified versions of them"

Buy a Benelli M2 Tactical. Same ergonomics and no need for the pump feature as it cycles virtually everything flawlessly (mine does, anyway).

Yep it's prohib, I forget which OIC thought.

Although if you are lucky enough to win the lotto, you can always get the Beretta M3p: (Non restricted)

Functionally identical to the Benelli M3, except it's mag fed. I think they are one of the most rare shotguns I've ever heard of though.

Just get an M4s90, a whee bit heavy but she's awesome!

I don't understand the desire for the m3, sorry. do you want a pump or a semi. more extra parts to break in my eyes

JTF2 envy? Actually, it was curiosity plus wanting to look at as many models as possible before plunking down the heavy cash. Still don't get why it's prohib, but that does take it off the table.

I sort of doubt the M3 would be more prone to break down BTW, just more useful with doubtful ammo. And of course in the world of snails and adventure the pump option is for the underpowered tactical shells door kickers sometimes want to fire.
