my 305

Fairly typical group if I do my part. I have one of the 305s that Mystar was selling with one of their scopes and mounts etcetera was a good deal. I’ve do nothing to the gun but clean it and shoot it.

My friend who is an avid hunter and not really into semis or milsurps is still talking about ringing a gong at 200yrds which was the size of the bottom of a beer can. Repeatedly. That was with the "2007" batch using a cheap clone Leupold 3.5-10 with the Bassett mount from Texas and SA milsurp ammo. Everything is 2 years old and still working like a charm. I have a Dark model that I will scope and see if there is a difference in batches

If use Hirtenberg ammo my 305 will shoot under an inch at 100 meters. The brass ejects very nicely and ends up in a small pile when I shoot prone.
Portugese surplus opens the group up to 2". Brass ejection with this stuff is rather violent and will go any direction.
180 grain cast using H335 give 1.5" at 100 yards as well and the action cycle is incredibly smooth with the spent brass ejecting about 18" and dropping into a very nice pile when shooting prone.
I think these guns are sometimes picky about what you feed them.

Commercial federal 150 grain hunting loads seem to be too high pressure by the way the action slams when it cycles. Groups are about 4"

My M14 works great but the groups are all over the paper offhand (4-6") with SA surplus. - not that I care... it shoots well enough and I have no reason to think I could get more out of it without spending some money. (not gonna' happen).

I've got two cases of SA surplus (I think its like 2400+ rounds @ $385.00 a case) so its a big bore hi-power plinker.

I have an 07 norc that has been tuned but not unitized. with the surplus stuff i can get 2.5" groups...with factory the average is 1.5"...with hand loads iaverage .75 to 1" groups depending upon the day (5 shot groups) my loads are not hot and the brass piles up less than 2ft away.
i have a scope mount that i bought from John at Marstar that tightened my groups considerably and a bushnell legend 3-9x40mm at present.( i am switching scopes here soon to a Elite 6500 2.5-16x42mm (when it gets here).
