How accurate is the Browning Bar?

I always liked this old Remington factory video ... starting at 23:05 with a 700, 742 and 760 on targets

Have no experience with Remington self loader rifles but the 7600 and 7615 (and 700's) are accurate from my experience

I've owned 4 Browning Bar Safari's and the 243 could regularly print sub .25" group. (I tried 8 different bullets)
The 270's best was a .21 3 shot group.(4 different bullets)
The 300wm is an older gun but it still can do an under .5" 3 shot group. (18 different bullets to achieve the best results.)
All at 100 yards.

Sorry, those are benchrest rifle degrees if accuracy. I have to call total bs…

I've seen "precision" bolt guns struggle to make this grade. You my friend are an exceedingly accomplished marksman.

My BAR 30-06 shoots sub moa with the following factory loads: Hornady 150, Browning 155 and 180 grains and Win BST 168. Many of my handloads shoot sub moa as well, including Sierra 150 SP, Sierra game king HPBT 165 and Barnes TTSX 168.

I have noticed that the two first two shots almost touch with the BAR while the third is slightly apart. The reason is the increasing chamber/receiver heat after the second shot which increases the temp of the third cartridge. There are tow solutions for that: either shoot 3 shots very fast or take much time between the shots until the barrel/receiver/chamber cool down entirely. Anyway what really matters is the first two shots. In many of my handloads they touch.
