How are the new savage 110 stocks? Do they still flex?

Hi folks,

Wondering if I could have a bit of a review from an honest gun but, how is the new savage 100 accufit + accustock stocks?

Bonus points for a review of a high country model.

Are they stiffer than before? Just as flimsy as any other plastic stock?

The accustocks are a little stiffer due to the thin aluminum bedding they have, but unfortunately the plastic is cheap flexy plastic on both stocks. They still shoot well however, just feel cheap.
The best budget factory synthetic stocks I've come across are the Vanguard's and Browning AB3, they are pretty solid.

Not in the slightest. But every cheap rifle with have an equally cheap plastic stock attached to it. If you spend some money and buy a better gun, the stock tends to be correspondingly better as well.

I get that, and perhaps it’s forum overload, and maybe an unrealistic idea but I’m looking to spend about 1500-2000 on the rifle alone and everything I look at someone, somewhere reviews the synthetic stock as flimsy.

Unfortunately I can’t go and put my hands on anything since most are sold out or don’t carry the rifles I’m looking at in that price range in my area.

In that range you can definitely get something with a decent stock...look at Howa's in HS Precision stocks, Browning X-bolts, Winchester M70's in B&C stocks, Rem 700 in B&C or Greyboe stocks, Kimber, lots of nice rifles in decent stocks out there.

With a price range like that you could also buy a gun with a wood stock. If you're set on a synthetic stock for whatever reason, look at what is available for aftermarket options - a Rem 700 and a Bell and Carlson stock is absolutely doable with that sort of budget, and I'm sure there are other options too.

Being able to adjust LOP can be handy, comb height I never found much use for as I always mount my scopes as low as possible. Every stock I have with adjustable combs are all in the lowest position and never get moved.

Mine in 6.5 creedmoor was the most accurate factory rifle ever to pass through my hands.

I got a SAKO A7 Roughtech Pro this year. Sturdy Bell and Carlson stock, if you don't mind a little extra weight, and spacers to adjust length of pull. Also on the bottom end of your price range.

I just came across the Sako S20.

Sounds interesting, aluminum frame inside the synthetic stock, completely adjustable.

If you looking at spending that kind of money, a Savage shouldn't even be on the radar.
