How are you protecting your parkerized guns?

Trying to avoid any rust on a park'd gun -- what have you been using?

Baked and slathered? Just gun oil? Silicone spray? Let me know your thoughts?

Parkerizing soaks up oil like a sponge so I just hose the gun down with Breakfree CLP, let it sit for a minute or two and then give it a wipe with a rag to clean off any excess. Seems to work pretty good so far.

A little G96..... never had an issue with a parked pistol.

X2 with G96. It's a metal conditioner so it gets into the pores of the metal. Great stuff.

Eezox, one of the best rust preventatives out there..... Corrosion X is also excellent.

Now Fluid Film is better, but it is more of a grease than a thin oil coating.

Almost anything will work. Grease will work too, but you have to clean it before firing.

Mostly, I use either Breakfree CLP or M-Pro 7 CLP - which works fine - or a polarized rust preventative like Birchwood Casey Sheath aka Barricade, or Outers Metalseal, which sprays on and sticks as an oil. The most tenacious product that I would recommend is Kleenbore RustGardIt, which sprays on and dries on like a wax. All of these products work well for protecting firearms from rust while still keeping the firearms in a state of readiness for immediate service.

Beware Fluid Film. It protects from rust, for sure, but - in my experience - it seized moving parts too.
