How bad is this rusty sks?

Same here!! I just got burnt by a noob in Toronto. Gun was completly rusted inside. No refund..no money back...just a lot of cheap exuses. If I didnt live in Sask.. I'd go visit him and have coffee and crumpits with him.

Indeed. My place is fine, but a lot of Calgary and south is not. Even with weeks of rain, the RH in my house is only 45%. Under more normal conditions it never climbs much above 25%-30%, less than 20% in winter.

I'd return it and not buy anymore guns without seeing them, unless it's from a reputable vendor.
The rust may be removeable with a lot of work, but at $200 you paid for a clean rifle in good shape.
Mine was a perfect '54 Tula for $180. Russian SKS's were chrome lined after 1951, approximately, btw.
That's a perfect example of shooting corrosive and not cleaning thoroughly when you get home.
I'm too busy at times to be bothered with that, I shoot non corrosive and clean it within a day or two...I also
did the Sailor Curt Youtube mod on the trigger to make it sweet, put iridium sights on it, and polished it, so
I don't want to shoot that corrosive garbage through mine. Hope it works out for you.
 
Well that f@cking scumbag scammed me. He got my shotty and says that I have a pushy attitude and told me to piss off. Now im stuck with a beater rifle....

A lot of drama here - it's not a heap of rust. I would have cleaned the chrome-lined bore, removed the light rust that's in non-critical sites, oiled it and shot it.
 
its not chrome lined. Also, there's rust on and in the gas piston and item is not as described. Also, theres some light pitting insine the barrel...
