Impossible to tell without having a known reference, but it is a mature bear and I'd say 95% sure it's a boar and it does have a gorgeous hide............

Bigger than someones cinnamin bear of recent days too.
Small ears , nice shoulders and it is a spring bear too.
Just my under educated guess having shot less than 5 bears in my hunting career.

Judging by the multitude of holes in that barrel,
someone else tried to get him.

Judging from the size of the tree and the pipe in the barrel. About 275 lbs, looks to still have winter coat so he will look bigger than he really is.

I should explain the barrel setup.
It's got a few lbs of whole corn and popped popcorn in it.
When he pushes on it, it spins, letting out a bit of corn, once he realizes that, some bears spin the crap out of it.
A few lbs of bait last weeks.
