I posted this in the Gunsmithing too, maybe I get them hands-on people to give me an advice.....
My Mosin shoots very high... @100yds, I vave to aim at the base of two 11x8 papers to even be on the paper.... near the top

what's customary in this case?

I was thinking about scoping this rifle as a sniper repro, but not sure I want to triple the "parts value" of that rifle, and be forever branded << bubba>>, and still, even then I'd like he irons to shoot Where I aim...
It's an Izevsk 91/30 .
Thank you!

I shot my new (to me) Mosin for the first time yesterday. Same thing, had to aim a foot or so below the target to hit it at 100 yards. Maybe because the sights are designed for longer distances.

I remember reading about how all mosins were sighted in with bayos fixed...
It just seems a little unbelievable that my 91/30, which shoots like a foot high at 100, will be cured by fixing the bayonet. Does this really work? I thought it was a problem with my rifle.

It's all about harmonics my friend. You'd be surprised how much the bayonet would help.

The gun just doesn't shoot as steady with that extra weight thrown on past the muzzle, is all.

I guess I was lucky. Mine shoots low so I put the sliding elavator on the "3" to get it on at 100 yards.

I have on occasion accidently knocked the slider back down climbing thorughthe bush and shot right under bears close up.

thank you, gentlemen,
I would have liked to have an adjustable one, like mojo, but it is so far form the original sight, it ruins the feel for me. If I'll be hunting with it, or just plain shooting, I'd like to have it as close to the original.

I miss some of the tools described in the surplusrifle, so I took it to "my" gunsmith. He said he'll do something nicer... we'll see.

thanks again,
