How can one buy a firearm in the U.S and Bring back to Canada

Hello

I am just curious, what are the steps, in simplified point form, for a person with a valid PAL Proh, Res. permit. To buy a semi auto or bolt action rifle with the proper limited magazine OR handgun, Res. or Proh. with the proper magazine capacity for Canada in the U.S.

I would just like to know IF it is possible and what you have to go through LEGALLY in Canada and the U.S. Anyone know?

You basically cannot buy a firearm, or firearm part, or ammo, or ammo components and legally export them out of the US yourself.

You could go through a legal export service.

Sort of. You can "buy" the gun, but you need to have the seller ship it to an FFL who exports on your behalf. A handful of FFLs offer this service. You cannot carry it up here personally.
 
Claven2 is correct.

You can't import anything that is prohibited, even if you have a prohib license. The prohibs here are the only ones, until they're all dewatted or hit the smelter.

I was bringing in the past ammo. I was having fun to see the face of Canadian border officer when I let it know that I have ammo. On the American side is ilegal, on Canadian side is legal.
Now I did not bring any more.

To clarify - it's not against Canadian law, it's against US law. The danger is that US officials will catch you and you could be charged. Canadian customs doesn;t care if you bring lawful firearm components into Canada, provided they are not registerable or prohibited components.

Not so. There are lots of legitimate reasons to buy ammo or guns parts stateside. I do it legally all the time when I'm down there. You have to have a valid reason to have that stuff, in most states if you have a non-resident hunting license, that is enough reason to buy ammo. Just don't try to export it without a state department Form 6.
