How can you only have one rimfire rifle!?

Well for now, I've decided to keep the budget in mind and just go for an old rusty Cooey 60 (no stock) that I'll work on restoring.

It should keep me busy for a little while...but I'll definitely want to get a lever eventually, and... and... :D

How can you have only one rimfire rifle... Easy...

You get;

1x for plinking in sunny weather
1x for plinking in crappy weather
1x 'classy' rifle
1x 'tacticool' rifle
1x for ISSF target shooting
1x for 'sporting' rifle match
1x for benchrest shooting
1x for squirrel hunting
1x for gopher hunting
1x for rabbit hunting
1x as a loaner
1x as a keeper
1x as a souvenir from grand-pa'
1x as a gift from dad
...

I have no problem sticking to only 1 rimfire rifle

I have a CZ453 .22LR

a 10/22 with EVO stock that I turned into a short (11" barrel) cheap black rifle for fun.

If I had to only have one .22 rifle, it would be the CZ hands down.

Down to 3 currently. CZ452 American, CZ468 trainer single shot and a lovely little minty Winnie 9422. Still, a lovely little rolling block would be fun...

Thompson/Center R55.

I really like my Ruger 10/22 target... but the R55 beats the crap out of it for straight out of the box accuracy. When you have a Semi auto that can go up against a CZ-452 right out of the box, then you know you have something special. The trigger is a bit heavy than a target trigger but very crisp and capable of accuracy work (not the case with the stock Ruger trigger).

If you can only have 1 .22 (Blasphemy) then I'd look at one of these. Expensive but worth it, and actually cheaper than having to mod up another rifle.

Cooey model 600, tubefed bolt action. Accurate doesn't begin to describe this gun. Even with cheap ammo it can leave a ragged hole in the bullseye at 25 meters. You can find em on the EE for 100-150 bucks. I have some ancient scope on mine and it is still a shooter. Thinking about upgrading it but can't justify the purchase. If it ain't broke dont fix it right?

I had two at one point... but my wife wanted the Cooey 64. I kept my Lakefield MkII, I want a 10/22 to pimp out tacticool, and I *NEED* a Mossberg 144LSB like the Icehunter's.

My grampa had one. My uncle has it now. My uncle, even with the old-as-dirt scope that has sat on it since day one, it'll still take the head off a stick pin at 50 paces. I don't think I have a gun that'll come close.

I only have 3, but I've had many more that "got away".

Currently:
Ruger 10/22 (kinda "tacticool" but not really...)
Savage 24C (.22 over 20ga; absolute great for grouse and rabbit hunting)
Browning Buck Mark

The ones that "got away":
CZ 452 Varmint
Marlin 795
Norinco M-93
Remington Viper
Ruger 10/22 (x2)
SIG Sauer Mosquito
Savage 24F
Henry H001 (x3)
Squires & Bingham (.22mag, no idea as to the model, it was a bolt action)

I Have:

22LR:
Cooey mod.39 (my 12yr old gift from dad)
CBC Black Diamond (Nylon 66 clone)
2x Anshutz/CIL 180
Rem 597VTR
CZ452 Silhouette
CZ452 American
CZ452 Varmint
CZ452 Full Stock

17HMR:
CZ452 American
CZ452 Varmint

Sold:
Savage 93r17 17HMR
Savage BTVSS 17HMR
Toz17 22LR

Someday I may sell a few to put some money down on an Anshutz mod.54...someday

Reading this thread has certainly given me the itch for picking up some more rimfires but for the moment I'm stuck with my meager collection. On display and looking gorgeous for a 50 year old East German is a KKV-1001 and tucked off to the side there is a Browning Challenger.

I have an Armi Jaeger AP-74 on the way as well and I'm looking forward to it. Hoping to snag myself a 10/22 someday.. maybe a pair since one will just have to have the Thompson kit on it. ;)

Gots:
9422m for plinking goodness
10/22 for plinking goodness & in case a skunk or something shows up in the day time.
Cooey 64b for plinking goodness, and a loaner.
Picked up a Savage 4c from FishDoc. Simple and reliable.
Hope to use it to dispatch pests. Should be quieter than the 12ga I've been using :p
