How come the IWI TAVOR T.A.R. 21 is listed as non-restricted?

because it is.

The AR platform is restricted by name (and looks) only. The Tavor was brought into the country and meets requirements as a non-restricted firearm.

Both AR and Tavor use regular AR-15 mags. Both can take the 10 round AR-15 pistol mags.

The AR15 is restricted because it was labeled as such by name. There is a big fat list of name-specified restricted weapons. The Tavor hasn't made it to that list yet.

And as far as I know, the tavor has a 5 round magazine cap; unless I'm mistaken, of course. The AR's 5 round limited can be circumvented with a loophole that involves using magazines designed for use in an "AR pistol" allowing them to fold 10 rounds legally.

Magazine capacity is detirmined by the gun it was designed for, not the gun it is used in.

The 10 round pistol mags is not a loophole.

Technically it is,

When C68 was being thought up by the liberal think tank, they wanted rifles to ONLY have 5 rounds, they just worded the criminal code poorly.
We found the loophole and it is very legal.

No it's not a loophole, it's the law. We don't regulate the number of rounds that go in rifles, we limit the rounds in mags. Rifle MAGS are 5, pistol MAGS are 10.

The AR's 5 round limited can be circumvented with a loophole

We as in Mark from Questar, and he deserves every ounce of credit and customer loyalty when purchasing them... it doesn't hurt that his company has the best prices on them mind you...

I got big head ache understanding our firearm laws. I gave up because there is absolutely no logic in it.

Be thankful Tavor is not restricted. Major reason why I would consider one, especially for $3k.

I hope it stays that way. If you ask me, Tavor is a better "AR" compared to the AR. LOL
