from what i have seen on the EE and in a few shops, it would seem that the K letter SKS is uncommon, on the EE and at various vendors, there seems to be more Izhevsk rifles for sale.

anyone that lives and breathes SKS's care to comment?

They are generally agreed to be the last Russian SKSs built, so they have that going for them, but they are far more common than Izhevsks.

I picked one (k) up at a Gun Show in the Spring, for only $200, looks Unfired, non -refurb. etc. I have an interesting serial # (Got trips) in it.

Don't live and breathe SKS (at least lately it seems), but the K series that I consider rarer is one that is non refurbished in laminate furniture with the original deep red ruby shellac finish. Pretty sure weimajack had the majority of the last batch for sale as he hand selects based on desirability.

where all they all now? I see one on the EE, none on westrifle, none at various shops I have been in.

Until the Trade Ex, Bell and Westrifle shipments of last fall, a non-refurbed "K" letter Series in hardwood was an unknown commodity. For some reason I'd have to say the "I" ones are the most prevalent, followed by the "D" then "K". Speaking of non-refurbed laminates, the rarest ones are the pre-Letter Series ones. These are 1955 dated on the top cover, but only have the serial number on the stock.

I bought weimajacks special 'K' rifle as described above, beautiful, colour amazing and in non refurbished condition. I love the look of it, much nicer overall than any of the other Russian or Chinese I have owned. I have it on EE (there are pictures there) now in the same 'new' condition I bought it but a bit cheaper as I am going out of milsurps.

You say you love it but you're selling it? Can't love it that much....

Lol well I suppose that's true on a technical level, but on a practical level I can't keep myself, my wife and two daughters in guns and ammo by keeping every gun I love the look of. I had to make a call and decided to sell all my milsurp guns to pay for my twin's desire to get into three gunning. :)
