bearhunter and SND, I see you are both on opposite side of the country and I am in Ontario. So there is a good chance you guys are not talking about me. I am also a machinist and can rust anything that I touch, including some stainless steels. For machined parts a quick spray with WD-40 will stop the rust from forming until I can get the parts delivered to the customer.
My stainless barrels have small rust spots and my iron sights need constant care or they can turn into a pile of rust in a week. For my skeet gun I always wear shooting glove to protect the metal on the gun where my hands come into contact with it.
