How difficult is it to rebarrel a CZ 527?

The worst part is fitting a reciever wrench to the reciever, especially the integral reciever ring scope base. I have seen 2 of the original 465's (made in 46 to 73 aprox), and one fox ( sort of a tacky, not as nice 527, made from 73 to 90's sometime) that had gouged and or crushed bases on the leading edge.

This is from an improper fitting wrench. All of these were in the Calgary area, the centre of the universe for jackleg gunsmithing.
 
Like any profession, having the proper tools to do the job is important. There is NO excuse for for crushing bases. Unfortunately there are part time hack and slash specialists in every trade. I think I know who you are referring to Buckbrush
