I found this pic, and I really like the bottom one, but I dont know where I got the pic from, and I cant seem to figure out what I need to buy to make it myself.

I am not sure I would like the flashlight on the side though.
I think this is a shorter barrel ar, so would it be hard to have a long barrel too, so I can change them if I wanted to use it for longer range? or is the shorter one pretty good for longer ranges too?
oh and i want it in .223, dont know if that matters.

Thanks

Jeff,

looks like you have a Ar that has the following:

Magpul 93 stock
possibly a KAC 300M BUIS (cant really tell as the photo isnt the greatest)
ARMS 22M68 mount
Aimpoint
probably a KAC RAS with KAC RAS panels
Tangodown verticle foregrip
Redi-Mag mag coupler
Lonestar Ordnance grip
surefire classic style weaponlight with ARMS 22 mount
16 inch barrel
phantom flashhider
sling appears to be a Giles 3 point sling or clone.

Looks like an M4 clone with a 14.5" barrel.

Start off with a quality flat top AR (IE: Colt, Bushmaster, Armalite) with the barrel length you want.

Standard Barrel lengths are as follows:

-10.5"
-11.5"
-14.5"
-16"
-20"

Most guys have several AR uppers with different length barrels. You remove 2 pins to swap barrelled uppers on your reciever.you can use one bolt & bolt carrier between uppers, but it is better to have a seperate bolt/carrier for each upper.

Once you have a base to start with, it is just a matter of replacing parts.

To build the pictured AR, you would need the following:
-Magpul M93 A/B stock
-Tango Down Vertical Grip
-Fore end Rail system (KAC,Larue, Troy, etc)
-Aimpoint Comp M2/ML2 red dot sight
-ARMS 22M68 Aimpoint mount
-BUIS (Back Up Iron Sight)
-Spectre 3 point sling
-Redi-Mag Spare mag holder

For the above listed parts you are looking at roughly $1500.00 to $1800.00 + taxes/shipping.This DOES NOT include the price of the base rifle.

Figure on $1400.00+ for a new AR-15

HTH.

SKBY.

Wow, thanks for the great replies guys :)

I will have to start shopping for sure, might have to look used to keep price down a bit though.

Just head over to P&D and talk to them about it. I'm sure that they will be able to set you up with all of that. Wolverine Supplies also can put all of that together.

What you are looking at there is:

Looks like a 16" barrel. This is a decent length for general usage and really isn't that much less accurate than longer ones unless you get into really silly distances. Barrel swaps are easy enough with the right tools.

AR-15 5.56mm lower. Armalite, Bushmaster, Colt...

Magpul M93B Stock

Some sort of crappy pistol grip.

Rail system of some sort. That one does not look free floated.

Tango Down vertical grip.

Aimpoint sight with riser.

Flip up rear sight. Tough to tell by the picture, but it might be an ARMS 40.

Phantom or Smith Enterprises flash hider.

Redi-mag.

Some sort of 3-point sling

It is RobAk's rifle

its a RASII for the Rail BTW

IIRC its a 14.5 Armalite with a vortex

The pistol grip has some storage in it and was the type that was protoypes to be on the A2 weapons "upgrades"
not sure where he got it (Wolverine?)

there isn't any in the mag...that would be unsafe storage in the living room:D ...unless of course there is parquet flooring on the firing line...then it would be better to have an armchair there and a beer...and of course a TV.:D
