Hello All,

I am a newbie to CGN, a Canadian who has been shooting handguns in the US during my travels for over 10 years, and long guns in Canada with friends and relatives for over 15.

I don't know why I haven't bothered to register in Canada maybe because I live in Toronto and thought it was too much hassle.

I would like to find someone or somewhere I can challenge the tests next week.

Thanks for the help in advance.

i think you still have to call an instructor to challenge it to. it just cost less money.

so i would start by calling some instructors in your area and see when they plan there next test day

You'll just need to find an instructor that will allow you to write (aka challenge) the 2 tests (PAL and PAL with Restricted). Then just send in the paper work and wait.

check the ofah website and they will show instructors in your area. Call one and go challenge the test when they have it.
good luck. remember your acts and prove...

Wouldn't count on it for next week.

challenging the tests can be done when ever you want usually as they are having classes most of the weekends so it doesn't matter to them. at least that's what i was told and what it was like where i went.

I know several people that challenged the test, got their RPAL in a different province, moved to ontario and immediately had it revoked until they actually took the RPAL safety course in Ontario. I am not making this up....You should probably just take the course....Thank god I don't live in Ontario...

That would be odd since pal /rpal federal run! and know person who challenged here including me on rpal! :slap:

According to the Criminal Code the course is optional:

(2) An individual is eligible to hold a licence authorizing the individual to possess prohibited firearms or restricted firearms only if the individual

(a) successfully completes a restricted firearms safety course that is approved by the federal Minister, as given by an instructor who is designated by a chief firearms officer, and passes any tests, as administered by an instructor who is designated by a chief firearms officer, that form part of that course; or
(b) passes a restricted firearms safety test, as administered by an instructor who is designated by a chief firearms officer, that is approved by the federal Minister.
