For each firearm I own, i watched at least 5 youtube vids on cleaning. Then mixed all the good ideas and suggestions and adapted them to my own.

I really do not know.. I had cycling issues with my Savage, and tried to field clean it. I really had no idea what I was doing, and the instructions in my kit are limited and kind of confusing (for a novice). I did oil the action (probably too much), cleaned the chamber as best I could, but I couldn't get the rod with the cloth up the barrel...
Should I just take it to a gun shop, and have them show me how to clean it??
Otis cleaning kit is kind of tricky if your new to guns, use a bore snake I personnally just put mine in laundry machines at work inside an old sock once they get dirty, it works great.
For cleaning all I do is a quick wipedown most .22 I have prefer running dirty and dry then once my OCD steps I clean everything in the ultra sonic cleaner.
I have an otis kit, and it's my favourite cleaning kit that I have owned. Some claim "just dragging a patch through the barrel" doesn't do a good job, but if you put the patch through the tip correctly for the caliber you are cleaning, the bulk of the patch is wrapped nicely around the tip, and is plenty snug to squeeze into the rifling. Also, if you pull on the cable right, the only thing that will touch the inside of your barrel, is the patch.... Just like any other cleaning rod used correctly.
I think any kit is finest kind if it has all you need for all the guns you own, and it's used right.
Yup
The system works great for 22 lr as there isn't much to clean out as the bullet is lead and not full jacket.

This is what I have 2 buckets @ 2800 rounds of REMINGTON 22-LR Golden Bullet, High Velcoity Plated Hollow Point 36gr @ 1280FPS. I was told that they are FMJ Hollow Point rounds.
No they are just plated lead I think it is zinc but nor sure some ammo guru will know the makeup but its not fmj.Just bulk ammo go and shoot it and then try other brands. Some may tell you they hate it but you can still shoot it that is just their opinion. It will kill gophers in a second or rabbits squirrels tin cans or whatever pull the trigger and the lead exits the muzzle and does its job."LOL"
win mag is full metal as well as 17hmr.

I would recommend NOT using WD-40 in a .22 semi. These are filthy beasts and the receiver traps hot gases and cooks traditional oils into a gummy, baked residue. Cleaning becomes a chore. Instead use a new synthetic CLP-type product. They prevent both powder residue and the lube from baking onto metal surfaces. Far, far easier to clean. What used to be a time-consuming chore with solvents, brushes and steel wool, is now wiped away with a cloth.
The make a smaller entrance/exit hole then non-plated.. But I am far from an expert in guns... I'm better with a camera or a computer...
I dislike WD40 for most things.. People like to think it is the end-all / be-all of everything, and really all it was designed for was water displacement. It is awesome stuff to spray into a distributor or points & condenser. It is an INSTANT wasp/hornet/Killer Bee exterminator (with the straw you get further reach), but for loosening stuck bolts & such, I'll stick with Deep Creep, for cleaning guns, I stick with stuff made for guns.. I dont think I even own a can of WD40..
I picked up a rod kit, but I'll get a bore snake as well..I have CDO (same as OCD, but in Order

I was born and raised in Québec
Thats my excuse for pretty much everything
