How do I crimp with a seating die?

Is there a way to crimp with a seating die? I'm reloading for the .33 WCF and it goes into a tubular magazine so the pressure from the spring in the magazine is pushing the bullets into the brass case. I tried playing around with it last year but ended up buckling a few cases so I thought I would ask. I was thinking of getting a factory crimp die made if I can't crimp with the seating die.

The seater die probably has a crimp function. Seat a bullet to the correct depth, then back the seater stem up a few turns, so it won't touch the bullet.

Then, with loaded case as far up as the ram goes, turn the seater die down until you feel the case mouth hit the crimper. then turn die down another quarter turn and run ram up and down. Check the crimp. If you want more, try another quarter turn.

If you have never trimemd your brass, you should, so that the crimper will work the same on all cases/. Otherwise some will hit ahrd and some won't even touch.

Pretty much what Ganderite said. Just remember to turn the bullt seater part back down until it touches the bullet with the ram in the fully up position aftEr you get your crimp set.

As for testing the crimp, you could try to pull a bullet out. i put the bullet in the vice with a piece of leather and pull on the case to check. If there's no crimp, it sohould come out with sigifigantly less force. If it's crimped, you'll be hard pressed to grip the case well enough to pull it out.

For a taper crimp that is what I use. Roll crimp you can see the amout, as trying to measure it would be hard.
