How do i dump an M1A?

Lots of comedians out of work, i see.

Doesn't cost anything to put the rifle on the EE for a week or 2. You have nothing to lose, and maybe someone will want it. There are people who are willing to pay a premium for better quality.

Don't expect too many intelligent responses in this thread - you're waving bananas in front of the monkey cage!

Is there a snickering smiley icon? Paying a premium I agree with. Better quality? LMAO

It'll sell on the EE. Snobbery isn't uncommon in the firearms world. Someone'll want it just because it's American and costs more. You'll see.

Yeah. Loads of gun snobs around who think that anything made in china is a hunk of junk.

You're good to go. Just toss it on the EE.

Ok, shes up on the EE lets see what happens. If it does not sell and i do part it out ill be keeping the GI trigger group (you knew that was coming;))

:needPics:

I own both a Springfield M1A Standard and a Norinco M305 ... am I a snob? I'd purchase another Springfield if the price was right ... :D

I own one SA M1A and several M14S/M305s and I agree, I would buy another M1A if the price was right, i.e. $600 MAX, otherwise I would just buy another Norinco.

I DON'T hate the M1A, IMO it is just as good as the Norinco...

...BUT, that being said, I bought it before I knew about the Norincos, if I had known about them at that time I would have bought 3 Norincos from Marstar and 2 or three cases of SA 7.62 instead!

easily amused aren't you?

Quality is a perception, based on experience. I had 2 norcs that broke inside 100 rounds of brand new. Dealer wouldn't do anything for me and couldn't tell me who i should contact about replacements or warranty. So, in my perception, i won't brag about Norc quality control, or the "factory" warranty and dealer network.

Maybe your perception is different based on your experience. Good for you. Can't be bothered to LMAO, it doesn't seem that funny. But i did LLAF (Lift Leg And Fart) after i read your post. ;)

Quality is a perception, based on experience. I had 2 norcs that broke inside 100 rounds of brand new. 1 of them had a front site that was 15 degrees off kilter. Dealer was a POS and wouldn't do anything for me and couldn't tell me who i should talk to about replacements or warranty work. So, in my perception, i wouldn't brag about Norc quality control, or the "factory" warranty and dealer network. I think maybe Springfield Armoury has a slightly better policy concerning warranty? But i'm not an expert like you.

Maybe your perception is different based on your experience. Good for you. But hey - i just don't care. Can't be bothered to LMAO, but i did LLAF (Lift Leg And Fart) after i read your post. ;)

You have REALLY bad luck then, I own some Norincos and don't have any problems with any of them...

...as for manufacturer's warranty, I don't need it, I was busy buying all the Norico M14 "take-off" parts I could get my hands on when "everybody" jumped on the "I NEED genuine USGI parts" kick. I have all the replacement parts I'll ever need.

Oh, as for Springfield Armory warranty, I never needed it either but I shudder to think about the problems involved with sending a rifle under warranty to them for work.(Canada > USA > Canada):confused::(

And from what I've read on my M1A warranty(you can read it online at their site if you want), unless you are the ORIGINAL purchaser, the warranty does not apply, i.e. it's not transferrable.

No, somebody will buy it because they prefer to support our next door neighbour, ally, and prefer to give the money to the country that designed the thing rather than own a 400 buck knock off. Supposedly chinese knives and even cars now are good but I'll still buy democratic thanks.

Same story here bud.
Nothing wrong with M1A's just very expensive.

Yawn. I don't have a dog in this fight, because I've never fired a Springfield. From my point of view, the Norcs won't make it hard for you to sell your M1A...they'll just decrease the amount of money that you'll get for it.

Best get rid of 90% of all your owned property there chump :jerkit:

There nothing wrong with M1A rifles. They are easy to transfer usgi parts to, some are built with all gi parts. I have three of them that have about 90% gi parts in them, but they are also very low serial numbers. I also have the norinco's for taking out on the ocean and in the bush. They also work great without much modifications. The us gi M14's have to stay home because the government wants it that way. Isn't democracy great!
