How do I find colt date of manufacture "FG"

Can anyone tell ne what year my 1911 colt auto was made, serial starts with letters FG###xx

Went to colt website couldn't find anything any data base there.

I have handled a lot of 1911's and never have I come across an FG prefix to a ser #. . Anyway try that link, may help

It's a Gov Mod colt and they start with the ser# FG for Fed Gov Model.

have a ser 80 that starts that way.
