how do i make my 700 SPS Varmint more accurate??

I agree with most on here, when i get a new rifle, I might spend money on components and thats all. I try every combo, looking for accuracy trends, changing only 1 component at a time. I also check pressure points on the barrel, scope and mounts, this costs nothing. The next thing I would spend money on, if I hadn't already done so, is on a proper rifle rest and proper leather sandbags fitted, fore and aft. Better optics would come next, with a new barrel, last!

Hi I have played with many 700 rems, if on buget i have found that best way to improve 700s is first glass bed stock, lap in recoil lugs , clean and recrown barrel, buy a quality scope and lap in rings. most important ether buy the best trigger you can afford or have a gunsmith redo original trigger. handload your own ammo with best equipment avalible. and shoot alot. learn to read the wind.

Hello everyone, i havent commented in a while but i will fill you in on what has happened. I had to send my Bushnell scope in for warrenty work because i found that the scope was faulty. For the time being i borrowed an Elite 3200 scope on and now the gun shoots very accuratly. I have decided not to put any money into the .204 and instead buy a .308 for a project rifle.
