I would like to order parts kits to build my first AR.

I am thinking of Stag.
I am new so I am not sure what and how to order.

Do I just tell them, upper and lower parts kits??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks:welcome:

Try one of the dealers listed above.
I have priced out a few parts & have found Arms East to be the best price.

If you price out all the parts to build a lower, it will cost you way more than just buying a complete lower.
That being said, you can buy a complete AR cheaper than buying all the pieces to build one or even buying an upper & lower seperatly.

If you could buy stuff off AR15.com, then yes building one would be cheaper.
Just my 2 cents

Curious how you arrived at this? I did the following math;

Arms East Website pricing (link)

Receiver - $209.00
Lower parts kit - $99.00
Buttstock assembly - $114.95

Total of $422.95

Complete lower from Arms East - $450.00 (link)

So how is it more expensive??

I just recently ordered the Stag stripped lower receiver and parts completion kit from TSE. On top of that you will need a buttstock assembly, I picked up the Magpul CTR from Walt at Arms East, and am just now waiting for the upper to arrive. The build is fairly easy, and there are plenty of guides out there;

Gives you a good understanding of how it all fits together (reason I choose this method as you don't save enough to make it worth it otherwise). Good luck on your choice.
