How do I pin a hi-cap mag to make it legal?

I have some pinned long rifle mags that barely take a 5th bullet and some only 4 and some cause jams. They were all pinned by someone before I took ownership and I have no idea how to figure out where to place the rivet so that 5 bullets can feed properly. Is there a best method to determine this?

I thought about re-pining ... but would like to know what is the method to best determine where the rivet should be placed and what size rivet and carbide
drill bit?

I like the way Viking pinned their mags (factory, approved in Canada) - looks like they hit the mag with regular nail at the back of the mag. The metal from the mag dented inside and works like a pin now. All you have is a little hole like somebody shot your mag with super small bullet.
