How do i put on a level I ipsc match

Ok ipsc guys need some help.
What is min i need to do to put on a level 1 match at my club.
ive got a bunch on new ipsc shooter and a bunch more ready to take another BB course.
So what i need to know is what do i have to do to ge ta level 1 match going at my club.
I know enought of the rules to keep it a clean and safe match.
And i,m good for getting ideas to set up a match.
But i,m not an RO? but do you have to be one to hold a match?
How do you submit the scores to IPSC ON and how do i score it ive not done that before eather!

you do not need to be an RO to HOLD The match ( ie be match director)

You do need ROs to officiate. I am certain you can get some from other clubs to come by and help.

You need to download the WIN MSS program from the IPSC site to do the scoring of the match. When that is done you simply email the results file to IPSC Ontario ( Bud).

Try and make sure your stage ideas are IPSC legal. They do not need sanctioning for a L1 match but you do not want to get into bad habits that you have to break when you move to larger matches ( trust me!!).

he did thematch we just had after the BB course at are club
ill just have to snag some RO,s from kingston and peterbrough

Simon...a few more things...

You need to get Club affiliation. It's dead simple. There's a blurb on it here.

I'll dig through my notes but I'm pretty sure the minimum number of IPSC members at each club to get affiliation was dropped from 10 to 7. Plus you'll need to be appointed by the IPSC members of your club as the IPSC Rep...then you're good to go.

Once you get underway and are ready to organize your first match, Bud will send out a broadcast email for shooters/helpers/RO's etc.

You may want to PM TAC from the Peterborough club. They just went through the process last year so he can provide you with some useful insight

If you run into any issues, give me a call.

10/4 will do
just a bit busy this week
talked to the club and i have to wait wil lthe end of the month til lthe meeting to ask averyone if they want ipsc at the club
so theres only a 30% chance this will fly
 
Make sure they know how much money it can bring onto the club...and what a bunch of sweethearts we are :cool:

ill do my best to get it going
But i,m sure it will, ive been telling them about the money that the club could make doing this and they seem to like the idea
But they would rather make money renting the club house to wedings in the summer.
i got into a big fight and allmost got kicked out of the club this year because we had so many wedings on weekends that it was hard to get anyshooting done, as its no shootign when thers a weding ANYWHERE in the club!!
So i said we need to raise money via shooting sports at the club not a bunch of drunk gun haters, and that allmost got me caned.
So i got to works on my skills :)
But i think i,m winning them over now.

id be looking for a nother club its a gun club not F%$# wedding hall if they were holding that many wedding then they dam well better be putting somthing into my pocket to give up shooting on the weekends :rolleyes:
 
Well, frankly where possible, it is a very good thing to open up the clubhouse to the public. It takes the demon out, and lets the muddled asses know we're their friends and neighbours.

However, it's a gun club first and formost, so matches are the thing to do. Frankly, I'd ban wedding use from may 24 until the end of september.
 
Yeah, like that's going to happen. That caused a big flap...god forbid we actually shoot. On the other hand, it does bring in money...but, it was just so many weekends in a row that caused grief. It is a good club, but...not so willing to bring in change. Plus, there seems to be some nasty perception that IPSC people date demons and defile angels :p

That's whacked man. There was a time when LTV was the Eastern Ontario IPSC mecca.
