Hello all!
i am extremely new to reloading & boughtva lee 4 hole turret press so I could reload 308 for my m14. I have been having trouble with putting a lee shell holder onto the ram. It wont fit whatsoever & I can't find any online material for it.. help?

Where did you get the shell holder from? I suspect that's the shell holder for the lee auto primer. The proper shell holder has a collar on the bottom, like this.

On a side note, I highly suggest a read through or 2 on the manual for the press.

What you have is a shell holder for a Lee case trimmer.Notice the knurling around the outside and the threaded socket at the bottom. A auto prime shell holder will be flat and smooth on the outside with a hole just larger than the primer. You need a shell holder that is like the one Spawn-Inc has illustrated.

I think you will also find that the auto indexing will have to be disabled by removing the indexing shaft due to the length of the rounds, I have to do this to use my 4 hole turret press when re-loading 30-30.

yes take the rod out for 308, 303, etc, can stay in for .223. Buy a couple of extra disc, I use one just for decapping and sizing as I use my .308 mainly in a semi-auto. Never neck size for a semi-auto, always fullsize your brass. For a bolt action, necksizing is fine.

When I first got into reloading I bought both type of shell holder's from LEE.
The green box and the red box.
I've never had to buy another one, and I've helped out plenty of guy's on a weekend that misplaced their's.

Bingo the first correct answer as to what you actually have.
