How do I sell a non-restricted longgun?

Call up the CFC: 1 800 731-4000

Listen to the options, get all the information they ask for (guns serial number, barrel length, capacity ect,) then call through.

Obviously you should also have the buyers name and information. Then they give you a reference number that the buyer has to call in and supply to them.

Instructions sounds quiet easy. Doesn't sound like the buyer has to do anything besides pay up and supply the appropriate info to seller. But I don't know any better.

I'm going to buy a non-restricted from EE and seller said I don't have to do anything... and I'm like okay... great... but I'm being charged GST, so me thinks he's a dealer.

Telephone Transfers

It is generally simple to transfer and register a firearm to a new owner by telephone. Call 1-800-731-4000 and select the transfer option from the menu of services. Please have the following information ready:

* full name, address and firearms licence number;
* the name, address and firearms licence number of the new owner; and
* the registration certificate number and firearms identification number of the firearm, as indicated on the registration certificate.

The CFP transfer agent will guide callers through the process.

The new owner can take physical possession of the firearm as soon as the CFP transfer agent provides them with their new registration certificate number. The registration certificate will then be mailed to the new owner within a few weeks.
