How do pitted plated bullets shoot?

I was looking at some AIM bulletts yesterday and there was a lot of pits and little voids in them. I can't find anything else locally right now so I was considering getting them. How might it affect accuracy in a 9 MM? Is there any other reason other than aesthetic that I should stay away from them?

I can't say on the pitted bullets, but Budget Shooter Supply has 9mm Berry's plated bullets in stock. Price was $96/1000 for 124gr RN, service is excellent and they ship 2 day express.

I cast my lead projectiles, and there are often small deviations and imperfections that I at first though would affect my shooting. Not the case for me, any inaccuracy they may cause is masked by my own inaccuracy, id say buy a box and try them out. If you do keep us posted.

there is a guy named Brennan Sheremeto, sales@shooterready.ca that sells plated bullets in Calgary and B.C. for 79.00 1000. I found him on gunnutz, but I don't remember his website. The bullets look good in the picture, but not seen any in person yet.

At normal (I.E 25 yards or less) handgun shooting distances it is highly unlikely that they will have any effect on accuracy.

There is a fella in the west GTA who sells Frontier plated bullets. If you want, PM me and I can give you his email. Decent bullets.

Thanks for all the tips and information guys. I did pick up a box of the AIM stuff and will see how it shoots. It looks like hell compared to other plated stuff that I have used (which looks like jacketed - ooooooh shiny!) but if it doesn't affect accuracy then I'm ok with it. Talked to a couple of guys that I shoot with last night after I started this thread and they swear by the stuff so it should be fine. I will keep all of your leads on other plated bulletts in mind, much appreciated.

Sounds like the imperfections are caused by impurities in the lead, which makes sense as the rumour is that the stuff is made from recycled material. But for the $91 (tax in, that's $80.53 no tax) I paid they should do just fine - especially for IPSC.
