How do these companies get away with it

I bought bino's from Cabelas that says on their US website , Bushnell is offerring a 30.00 rebate on Bino's. Canadian website said it was a 50.00 rebate from Bushnell. The bino's get sent in a plain brown box with a bar code I believe it to be a tracking # for the compnay doing the shipping, so I throw the box out. I send in the original receipt that says where I live and has all the info . They send a card in the mail and says you failed to send the UPC bar code ....I call Bushnell directly because you can't talk to anyone at their rebate centre ...they say " No it because your not from the US " ....Then why is the offer on the canadian website for 50.00 ? They blame Cabela's

Nothing but scams with these big companies ......I'm done with Bushnell...makes me wonder what their warranty is like.
 
In my experience lots of those rebates are scams. I had one years ago that was rejected as I did not circle the purchase on the receipt like the directions said to. It was the only item on the receipt. Of course by the time they rejected the rebate, the offer was expired.

Why are they advertising on a CDN website as well. Second am I to believe a lesser of a hunter or outdoorsman than an American counterpart. They can't advertise without Bushnell support.

No I didn't save the box I thought it was a shipping box ...I thougt it was useless to me ......live an learn

All in all they're all scammers
 
They are not all scams. When I bought my Remington 870 Express it came with a coupon in the box for a $50 rebate. The fine print said only in the U.S. but I sent it in anyway and they mailed me a cheque for US $50. I deposited the cheque with my local RBC branch and it paid.
 
I'll say it like this, when comparing the volume of sales in Canada vs the US do you think that it is high on their priority list.

I work at an automobile dealership and found out the real truth that put things into perspective.

The product sells more in the state of California than all of Canada, they don't care if the vehicles can't handle -40.

It isn't anything personal against ya, it is just logistics.

Next time get a Sightron, I had my rebate check within a couple of weeks.;)
 
Home Depot scammed me out of a $150 gift after spending $1500 on a snow Blower...Fine, now I buy all my supplies anywhere elese. I lost out on $150, they lost out on over $50 000 over the last several years. Big deal to them..probably not..but I do have a choice.
