How do you breakin a new AR15?

Hello

On a new AR15 that just come out of the box.
Besides cleaning it.

Is there a breaking in period?
If yes, what it the method or procedure?

1 - Clean it - mainly to make sure the barrel/gas tube isn't obstructed with grease or foreign debris.

2 - Lubricate with oil/grease of choice.

3 - Shoot.

4 - Repeat step 3.

Really no break-in required. Things will get smoother with use, but there is no specific format I'd use. Don't shoot it mag dump after dump until it glows red - but other than that, let'r rip.

Load mag and shoot it...

I was given 30mins with the issued cleaning kit and a rag to clean my issued service rifle I just pulled out of the plastic. Needless to say there was muzzle loaders on the firing range shooting smoke and oozing out grease everywheres. Just make sure the chamber and barrel is clean.
