how do you carry your .22 rounds?

And you can even carry a "non-Rambo" Swiss in that very same pocket...

;)

Jk, jk...:)

I know you're kidding but what's the issue with carrying a knife? How many on here have bayonets for their Milsurps or black rifles?? Some you can't even use in the field(rifles that is).

How my knife qualifies as a "Rambo knife" is beyond me.

Notice how the Rambo knife has a blade nearly as long as my knife's overall length. Here is a Buck Vanguard, one of Bucks more popular fixed blade hunting knives. The vanguard sports a nearly identical blade length.

I'm just curious as to what the issue with having/carrying a knife is. As well as what classifies a knife as a "Rambo" knife????

Stop right there, kind sir. I certainly was kidding. Nothing more, nothing less. I hope no parties were offended in the making of this merriment. ;)

I know you were kidding. I'm just curious. Is it fixed blade knives that get labelled as "Rambo" knives or did something else conjure up that image? Compared to some knives here on CGN (in the knife forum) mine is rather small. Just saying.

My observations about the knife are as follows:

Based on my exprience, I have never need a knife bigger than a nice locking folder with a 4" blade. Yours just seems larger than needed while in the field plinking gophers

Again, just my personal experience and observations.

I can't disagree. I usually sport some sort of folder as well. I find a fixed blade a nice addition and being that it is a fixed blade it is less likely to fail. It should be noted that the rig posted is not dedicated to just plinking or varmint work. I don't want to side track this thread anymore but, I find most fixed blade knives have too much blade and not enough grip/handle. The Master hunter is one of the few that doesn't follow this trend. Thanks for the response.

No where did I say that it was "over the top" as you put it. I simply stated that I have never needed anything bigger than 4". A 4.5" fixed blade knife just seems a little excessive, and is purchased more for the looks than need.(And they do look cool, I can't disagree:D)

But hey this is only my opinion, take it for what it's worth.:)

I was looking for something in the 4" range but couldn't find anything with a large enough handle to match. Any suggestions? Feel free to post public or PM me.

I've had the same knife for years, a Kershaw Ken Onion Design Blackout assisted opening folder. Never had a need for a fixed blade knife so I never looked into them. Practically opens itself, holds a edge well and is all black even the blade, so it had the cool factor.

Mine has a 4" blade. As I said it is 5 years old.
Mine has met my needs so I have never looked for anything different. But maybe the impending Zombiepocalypse would warrant a big "Rambo" fixed blade.......:D

Whammy,

The Kabar is nice, but its too big. I have no need for an 8" blade. I tried a 2/3 scale one and the handle was very small.

Tyler 582,

I don't any excuses to carry more mags.. :)

I like the rig, has everything you need, accessible and ready to go. I agree with the knife to credit card comment, I have my knife, an Opinel #10, everywhere I go, and depending on what I'm hunting a fix blade as well, but the folder is in my pocket, everywhere.

Does anyone make a specific pouch for 25rd 10/22 mags? I know you can just put two or more in a pouch made for one full size 20rd or 30rd mag, but I'm surprised with the plethora after-market accessories and stuff that there is not an specifically made pouch. I don't want one, I have the above mentioned large pouch for two, just surprised is all.
