How do you clean your rifle scope lenses?

I use the cleaning kit that came with my SB for my TT and sightrom. I would never use compressed air on my optics, I get sand and stuff on my.scope rather not sand blast the lenses!

Could you share what is in this kit if it has labels please ? That would be the stuff if it was available to the rest of us

Dust is abrasive, first thing you need to do is remove the dust, its microscopic and you can't see it, but if you drag it over your lens you are going to scratch the coatings, thats why the brush on the lens pen is the first thing you should do to remove any dust or fibres. NEVER use a paper product unless its the lens cleaning papers that you got from the camera store. I then use a little bit of alcohol on a cotton ball and go lightly in circular motions from the middle to the outside, that will move anything the the alcohol removes or dissolves to the outside of the lens. the alcohol will dry really quickly. After that you can polish a little bit with the micro fibre or the cupped end of the lens pen, never press and rub, just light strokes, always circular from the middle to the edge. I also always keep my lens caps closed and put cotton balls under the lens caps to absorb any moisture or dust that might somehow get in.

I have some spray from the optometrist that is supposed to be very gentle with the coatings on plastic lenses, I'm sure that would work extremely well on glass as well. Blow off any debris, light spray and soft cloth made for plastic lenses.

I remember watching my parents clean their sunglasses with their fingers or dry with kleenex... wondered WTF they were doing. Then you looked at the lenses after and they're all scratched up.

Wow! Some of you guys are serious about taking care of your glass.......what excuse do you use to convince the wife that you NEED a new scope.

I keep mine covered as much as possible. They don't need cleaning if their not dirty....and when they are dirty, a lens pen. I watched the Vortex video. Good info.

Same method I used when I used to work as a Lab Tech, using microscopes that were considerably more expensive than most rifle scopes.

A small camel hair lens brush to remove any grit that might scratch the lens/coatings.

Then a lens paper with rubbing alcohol, then dry lens paper... Before using the lens paper, a lens pen if there's any dried on water droplets.

I also use the individual Zeiss per-moistened lens cleaning patches that you can get from london drugs, they're pretty handy

When your scopes replacement cost is over 6k you tend to take care of it.
