you got it backward bud, its a long bolt that goes from the butt into the receiver, you will need a long screw driver .

for more info go to black and green rifle forum, up on top there is a vz58/cz858 sticky.... if you are one of the lucky ones then you wont have any problem taking it off but most of us had a bugger of a time with it, good luck cos you probably will need it.:D

hey thanks for telling me about that thread..... Yeah sounds like a PITA... I dont wana risk Mangling that screw head cause you will see it very well when used on the folder. That is can you use the same Bolt on the folding stock.. I think im going 2 saw off the ass end close 2 the reciever and use a regular flat head screwdriver and put out.... the plastic stocks are a dime a dozen anyways if i decide 2 put one back on...haha

i just used my tire iron, it had enough leverage to get it out. i could not get it out with a long flathead screwdriver, it was that tight.

Most socket sets (ala Canadian Tire/Mastercraft) have a 3/8 to hex adapter bit. Just chuck this adapter on the end of an extension, put a hex shafted flat screwdriver bit in it, and then use your swing handle to apply torque. If you make sure the bit fits as perfect as possible (grind to fit if needed), this rig will let you apply lots of pressure on the screw and lots of torque with the handle. And a shot of loosen-all ahead of time won't hurt!

cant reuse the bolt for the folder, the folder uses a special bolt , you should have gotten one when you bot the folder, go and ask the guy brot it from cos those bolt are hard to come by itself.

Hi:
I used a socket type flat screwdriver (3/8), put on my 1/2 inch adapter and extension and used my air ratchet. Those things are on TIGHT.
Keep trying - they do come off.
