How do you install a Magpul CTR onto a Bushmaster XM15-E2S

Could someone please tell me what is required to install a Magpul CTR on to a Bushmaster XM15-E2S with a fixed stock

Does the Bushmaster have a milspec or commercial buffer tube?

Other than the correct CTR (mil-spec or commercial size) what else would I need to purchase?

Am I required to purchase a new buffer tube? -If yes, could I buy a mil-spec one to fit a mil-spec CTR?

You will need a CAR buffer tube anyways.

My sincere thanks for your assistance, you have been a huge help in clarifying this issue.

1) Can a person replace a COMMERCIAL buffer tube ...with a new generic CAR MILSPEC buffer tube assembly? (reason: a used milspec CRT is available for purchase.)

2) Will a Magpul CRT fit onto a "generic" Commercial Adj. Carbine Stock Completion Kit from Brownells? Or is it a proprietary piece of gear requiring a magpul buffer kit?

Yes, you can replace a commercial tube with a milspec one, and yes a milspec CTR will fit on any milspec tube providing the tube isn't garbage (ie. not to spec) which shouldn't be an issue here. A commercial CTR will fit any in-spec commercial tube. This is all part of the joy of owning an AR 15, when they say "modular" they aren't kidding - you can shoot your lower as a carbine in the morning, change the rifle at lunch and shoot it as a precision rifle in the afternoon using parts from as many different manufacturers as there are parts to change.


PS all that switching and all those parts will leave you broke, happy, but broke
