How do you know what scope to get?

3200 or 4200 bushnell 5x15 or 4x16 by 40mm , or Grand Slam 6x20, would not break the bank,( check ee ). This will work on that rifle, other than that low turrets are fun to use, and work great moving from 100 through to 500 meters. :)

First give us more details :

-how much can your affort to pay ?
-what distance do you plan to do most of your shooting ?
-want variable or fixed power ?
-want a new or used scope ?

here is a good link with some scope review : http://w w w.6mmbr.com/optics.html

clear spaces between w for link to work

Its been my experience with scopes that you get what you pay for. So spend what you can afford.

Without knowing anything about the distances you will be shooting i would recommend at least a 12x fixed. I used to hunt gophers from ranges of 20 yards to 300 yards with an old fixed 15x weaver. I never felt I had too much magnification.

well the scope I want for my LTR is $800 more then I paid for the gun:runaway:

for you as I think you are a newer shooter at least a longer ranges,I would look at the Bushnell 3200 Fixed 10 power, the Price is very good,it has mil-dots some you can learn how to range with it,It also has Target Knobs that is a BIG+ in my books then get yourself a pile of ammo, get out to a good patch of G-Hogs and blast away, keep track of where your rds hit and adjust(log books are your friend!!) and remember this it a round hits Right of the target you turn you wind knob left,if it hits low you turn the elevation knob up;)

PM me if you want, I can help you with alot of things in LR shooting world,

Almost the same advise here, but add $300 to that.
Jamie gave you a good choice for an intermediate prices scope that works.

Go upstairs and ask your girlfriend's dad. He knows best.

Well maybe girlfriends dad will buy me a new scope at the gun show in lieu of allowing him to stay at our new house while fishing in Campbell River. Or maybe I should just be thankful that I get to live in his basement and leave it at that.
