How do you like your Mossberg speedfeed?

Hi all,

just about to purchase (hopefully) a M590A1 and have to decide between two different products: 53690 and 51518.

One has a collapsible stock (I'd prefer that) and the other one has the ''speedfeed'' stock.

In case i end up buying the speedfeed, tell me it's a good choice....or not!

Not impressed with the "Speed Feed" feature, but i found the stock itself to have the best ergos, as far as a Mossberg stock is concerned,

YMMV.
 
For a defensive shotgun or a camp gun, the speedfeed is perfect. I put them on all my shotguns that fit this purpose. I have one on my 590A1. I don't bother if they are hunting or sporting shotguns. I hate side saddles so the speedfeed works great. I also have the forend with build in light since what good is a defensive shotgun without a light ? Bad things don't usually attack in the daytime.

The shell holder on the right side of the stock is high and your cheek sits right on a edge created by the slot .
 
Ill chime in .. I run the speedfeed stocks on my 590s. GREAT kit along with 6 shot sidesadles. However the springs have been known to push the butpad off due to longtime storage. As a result I only keep loaded with one extra shell rather than 2. I load up when out, however the buttpads are only held on with screws ...
