CZ Shotguns. I've always pronounced it "See Zed".

I would have thought that our American friends would pronounce it "See Zee", but after recently talking to a guy who shoots in the U.S. a lot, he says they all pronounce it "Seezy" (rhymes with "sleazy").

Wadda ya think? How do you pronounce it?

The "British" way is correctly "zed". Those hoity toity revolutionary separtists south of us changed it to "zee" when they dumped all that tea in the harbour.... :D

NAA.

Cee Zed.

But the one that's really irritating is guys who insist on pronouncing Brno (berno) as Bruno....there's no "U" in Brno....

Now, if you'll excuse me I have to fondle one of my Sakos....or is it Socko..?:D:stirthepot2:

I have a few Czech friends that all say See-Zed and they get annoyed when someone says See-Zee. If you ever get into a pronounceation battle with someone. Just get technical and say Ceska Zbrojovka and if they can't say it, which they won't, then you win! chEh-ska zbrO-yov-kah. Remember to roll your tongue on the r like its an L and stress the capital letters. I'm in the middle of learning how to speak czech from my czech friends.

Now that's an interesting way of saying Brno. The great thing about Czech words is they are pronounced the way they sound... in the Czech alphabet anyways since a j is actually pronounced as a y. But yes it is definitely not Bruno. I think my Czech friends heads would explode if you told them some people out there call Brno Bruno.

Say zed, that is what a hungarian that worked at the CZ factory told me. But he is old and mostly fos.
